About the EAFF

The Extremely Amateur Film Fest (EAFF) is an annual exhibition of independent films that barely meet the minimum requirements for existence. Watch as people who have no business owning a video camera hurl themselves off cliffs and down slopes in an effort to entertain. Cringe as poorly conceived shots dance shakily in front of you, linked loosely together by over-played music and vague story lines. It's a night of hilarity, embarrassment, and a true celebration of mediocrity in amateur film.

In all seriousness though, the Alberta-based festival (which has been running since 2014) has churned out some truly remarkable short films, and has become an outlet for the pent-up creativity of the average Jo. It's a festival that's open to anyone, of any skill level, and any (family friendly) category of film. It's a chance to see your work on the big screen, and test your material in front of a forgiving (and generally intoxicated) audience.

At the very least, it's a great chance to drink, be merry, and share a few laughs with friends. Be sure to join us for the next event, or submit a video to get in for free! Our standards are very low!!

"We don't just settle for mediocrity... we strive for it."
